Today, insulating or double-glazed glass is a suitable alternative to ordinary and single-glazed glass due to the increase in thermal efficiency of the building and as a result of the significant reduction in energy consumption.

Insulating glass consists of two or more layers, which are separated by a separator strip (SPACER) made of aluminum on the peripheral edge, and the empty space between them is filled with argon gas. In fact, the set of glass layers and the empty space between them make the process of energy transfer more difficult and slower.

By using fully automatic machines with today’s technology, spacer strips are cut, pasted and sealed on the edges around the cups. Usually, the thickness of the separating tape is from 4 mm to 26 mm, which contains a moisture-absorbing material to absorb the moisture vapor in the empty space between the two layers. In making insulating glass according to the type and use, you can use normal, colored, low-reflective (LOW-E), dark and laminated glass, and these glasses are made in UPVC, aluminum, iron and even wooden frames. 1- Solar energy control:

In case of correct selection and use of colored, reflective and low-emissivity glass (LOW-E) in the insulating glass structure, direct thermal energy transfer and UV rays and visible light emitted from the sun into the building, compared to ordinary glass. The monolayer is effectively reduced.

Scientific standard SHGC (solar heat gain coefficient):

It expresses the passage of the sun’s heat and energy through the glass. This criterion is numerically between zero and one, and if it is less, it means that less solar heat passes through the window. And on the contrary, the scientific measure of visible light transmission (TLV) shows the percentage of light passing through the glass.

3- Thermal energy control:

Direct sunlight on glass is not the only way to transfer heat. Heat is also transferred through contact, convection and radiation. Thermal energy control refers to the insulation’s ability to resist heat transfer in these three ways.

Insulating glass, especially using low-emissivity glass, significantly improves thermal energy control compared to conventional glass.

The inhibition of these glasses will reduce the entry of heat in the summer and reduce its loss in the winter.

The term VALUE-U expresses the amount of heat passing through a specific structure. This index represents the insulation level of the glass. The lower it is, the less heat passes through the window.

3- Sound pollution control:

Insulating glasses play an effective role in controlling and reducing sound penetration inside. In this way, for example, the noise pollution caused by traffic, which is about 70DB, reaches 45DB in the office or bedroom.
